I-Move Weekend Report: Lane closures planned for paving and construction work this weekend
Traffic on I-71 and at the I-71/I-265 interchange will be impacted
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet continues to make progress on the I-Move Kentucky project as crews work in several areas of I-71 and I-265. Construction work at the I-71/I-265 interchange and paving operations on I-71 will impact traffic this weekend. Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen delays.
Milling and paving work on I-71 southbound and deck work on two bridges over I-71, the I-265 bridge and Brownsboro Road bridge, will require traffic on I-71 to be reduced to one lane throughout the weekend from Friday at 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday. Lane closures will take place on I-71 northbound and southbound starting before the I-265 interchange at mile marker 8.7 and continuing to near the Oldham County line at mile marker 11.
Drivers should be cautious when traveling through active construction areas. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.
