I-Move Traffic Alert: Lane Closures on I-64 Starting Sunday

Lane closures will be in place on Interstate 64 starting Sunday, June 23 for bridge inspection work of the I-64 bridges over Tucker Station Road.  

Beginning Sunday at 9 p.m., I-64 West will be reduced to one lane between I-265 and Blankenbaker Parkway for bridge inspection work. This closure will be in place until 5 a.m. Monday morning. The same closure will also be in place Monday, June 24.  

Beginning Tuesday at 9 p.m., I-64 East will be reduced to one lane between Blankenbaker Parkway and I-265 for bridge inspection work. This closure will be in place until 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. The same closure will also be in place Wednesday, June 26. 

 

Additional Reminder: Closure tonight, Friday, June 21 

Beginning Friday at 8 p.m., the I-64 West ramp to I-265 South (Exit 19A) will be closed. The detour for this closure will be to take the Blankenbaker Parkway exit (Exit 17) and then follow signs toward I-64 East. This closure will now be in place until 4 p.m. Sunday, in lieu of the previous closure time of 6 a.m. Monday morning. 

 

Additional Reminder: Closure on Sunday, June 23 

Beginning Sunday at 4 p.m. the contractor will close the I-64 West to Blankenbaker Road ramp (Exit 17). This closure will allow crews to switch the ramp’s traffic to the left for the new widening. The detour for this closure will be to take the Hurstbourne Lane exit and turn around. This closure will be in place until midnight. 

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. 

Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.
