Lane closure planned to install safety barrier for utility work near mile point 10.2
On Monday (April 20, 2020), contractors for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s I-Move Kentucky project will temporarily close one northbound lane on Interstate 71 – just north of the Gene Snyder Freeway – to install barrier wall along the shoulder.
The right lane of I-71 will be closed at mile point 10.2, where Brownsboro Road (KY 1694) crosses the interstate. Work will be completed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and drivers should be cautious when traveling in the area. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of the lane closures.
The barrier wall installation is underway to prepare for an upcoming waterline relocation work in this area.
