I-Move Kentucky Construction Starting Next Week

Work on Gene Snyder Freeway will require overnight lane closures

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of upcoming traffic impacts next week as construction work begins in two of four project areas included in the state’s I-Move Kentucky project. Overnight closures on the Gene Snyder Freeway and intermittent stoppages on Brownsboro Road are expected.

“As we work to ensure the health and safety of Kentuckians during this time, we must continue to move transportation forward responsibly with the current situation and long-term vitality of the state in mind,” Gov. Andy Beshear said.

“This regional project will upgrade two major interchanges to significantly improve safety and add lane capacity to roadways that serve as key freight corridors businesses rely on to transport goods and people depend on to access jobs,” KYTC Secretary Jim Gray said.
