Weekend Report: Lane Closure Planned on I-71

Construction work planned this Saturday

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of upcoming traffic impacts this weekend as construction continues for the I-Move Kentucky project. Work on Saturday on Interstate 71 southbound will involve a daytime lane closure.

Crews will perform work between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday to put in an access road to a culvert that is being extended to allow for the widening of I-71. The left lane of I-71 southbound will be closed while the access road is being installed between Highway 329 and the rest area. The lane closure will occur between mile point 14 and mile point 13 of I-71 southbound.

Drivers should be cautious when traveling in this area. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.

Work schedules may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
