I-Move Traffic Alert: Blasting Work Resumes on I-71 Tomorrow

Blasting along Interstate 71 is set to resume tomorrow, Tuesday, May 23, as part of the I-Move Kentucky project to expand I-71 to six lanes.

Beginning Tuesday and continuing for the next several months, crews will perform regular blasting work along I-71 between Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12 and KY 329 (Exit 14). Blasting will generally occur weekdays around 2:30 p.m.

Rolling traffic stoppages will be in effect for both southbound and northbound I-71 to ensure the safety of workers and drivers. The roadway will typically reopen to traffic within 15 minutes unless debris cleanup is necessary.

Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones.
