I-Move Week Ahead: Lane Closures on Gene Snyder Start Next Week
Lane closures will be in place on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) and Interstate 71 starting on Tuesday, May 28. Additional closures are planned throughout next week as part of the I-Move Kentucky project.
Tuesday, May 28
Beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, I-265 northbound from I-64 to Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) will be reduced to one lane. The left lane of I-265 southbound will be closed entirely during the closure. These closures will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday to allow crews to install an overhead sign truss.
Also, beginning Tuesday at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound from Brownsboro Road (Exit 34) to one mile past the I-71 interchange will be reduced to one lane. This work will shift lanes to the right. The closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The same closure will be in place 8 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.
Thursday, May 30
Beginning 8 p.m. Thursday, I-265 southbound from Westport Road (Exit 32) to LaGrange Road (Exit 30) will be reduced to one lane for temporary barrier wall removal. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Friday.
Additionally, starting 8 p.m. Thursday, I-265 northbound from Brownsboro Road (Exit 34) to one mile past the I-71 interchange will be reduced to one lane for the installation of temporary barrier wall. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Friday.
Friday, May 31
Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, I-265 northbound will be reduced to one lane on the I-265 northbound bridge over all lanes of I-71. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday, June 3.
Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.
Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.
