I-Move Traffic Alert: Additional Ramp and Lane Closures on I-64 and I-265 Starting Tonight

Additional ramp and lane closures will be in place as crews work on I-64 and I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) starting tonight, Monday, June 17. This work is a part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Monday, June 17 

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the left two lanes on I-265 North will be closed between I-64 and Shelbyville Road (Exit 27). Crews will be performing sign installation. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. on Tuesday. 

Additional Reminder: Closure tonight, Monday, June 17  

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the contractor will close the right lane at I-265 South over Shelbyville Road (Exit 27). This will also include the closure of the ramps to both I-64 West (Exit 25B) and I-64 East (Exit 25A). These closures will be in place until midnight.  

The detour will have drivers continue on I-265 South and turn around at the KY 155/Taylorsville Road exit (Exit 23). Drivers will then need to get back on I-265 North in order to exit towards I-64 East Lexington or I-64 West Louisville. 

 

Tuesday, June 18 

Beginning tomorrow at 9 a.m., one lane in each direction on Blankenbaker Parkway will be closed at the top of the I-64 West to Blankenbaker Parkway ramp (Exit 17). Crews will be performing median improvements. This closure will be in place until 3 p.m.  

The same closure will be in place on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

Additionally, beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 South and I-265 North will be reduced to one lane directly south of I-64. Crews will be performing sign installation. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday.  

 

Friday, June 21 

Beginning at 8 p.m., the I-64 West ramp to I-265 South (Exit 19A) will be closed. The detour for this closure will be to take the Blankenbaker Parkway exit (Exit 17) and then follow signs toward I-64 East.  This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday morning. 

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. 

Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.
