I-Move Week Ahead: Lane and Ramp Closures on I-71 and I-265 Starting Tonight

Lane and ramp closures will be in place on I-71 and I-265 starting tonight, Friday, Aug. 30. This work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Fri., Aug. 30 

  • Beginning at 10 p.m., the ramps from I-265 northbound to I-71 southbound (Exit 35B), I-71 southbound to I-265 southbound (Exit 9A), and I-265 southbound to I-71 northbound (Exit 35A) will be closed. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.  
  • At 10 p.m., I-71 South and I-71 North will be reduced to one lane at the Gene Snyder. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.  

Tues., Sept. 3 

  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound at I-64 will have a full closure. The detour for this closure will be to take the I-265 northbound ramp to I-64 westbound (Exit 25B), turn around at Blankenbaker Parkway then take I-64 eastbound to I-265 northbound (Exit 19). Crews will be working on the future I-64 westbound to I-265 northbound ramp.  
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound will be reduced to one lane from I-71 to KY 42. Crews will be performing pavement installation. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

Wed., Sept. 4 

  • Beginning at 9 a.m., there will be intermittent one lane rolling road closures on I-71 northbound from the rest area to KY 329. This closure will be in place until 1 p.m. 
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound will be reduced to one lane from I-71 to KY 42. Crews will be performing pavement installation. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Thursday morning.  
  • At 8 p.m., I-265 southbound from Shelbyville Road to I-64 will be reduced to one lane for overhead sign work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Thursday.  

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones.
