I-Move Traffic Alert: Emergency Pothole Repairs

Drivers on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) in the I-Move Kentucky project area will soon get some much-needed pothole relief. The repairs will take place in both directions of I-265 between I-64 and U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road).

Beginning at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 7, traffic will be reduced to one lane on I-265 North between I-64 (Exit 25) and U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road / Exit 27) to facilitate the emergency pothole repairs. Once repairs are complete in the northbound lanes, the contractor will make repairs on I-265 South between U.S. 60 and I-64.

There is no estimated duration for the pothole patching; the work will continue today until repairs are complete. Traffic delays are possible.

More extensive pothole repairs will take place on I-265 South beginning at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. This work will require a right lane closure between Old Henry Road (Exit 29) and U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road / Exit 27). In this section of roadway, a construction crew will dig out damaged concrete and fill it with lifts of asphalt.

Drivers should be cautious when traveling through active construction areas. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.
