I-Move Traffic Alert: I-71 South lane closures tonight

The removal of overhead exit signs along Interstate 71 South will require temporary alternating lane closures tonight and into tomorrow morning. The work is part of the I-Move KY project.

From 8 p.m. tonight, March 28, to 6 a.m. tomorrow, March 29, there will be alternating lane closures on I-71 South from mile marker 11 to the Brownsboro Road overpass about a mile before the I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) interchange. There will also be intermittent rolling roadblocks during this time to allow for the removal of the signage and its truss.

The signs will be replaced with a temporary variable message board until new signs are installed at a later date. The truss removal is part of ongoing work to expand I-71 to six lanes between KY 329 and I-265.

Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures. Motorists may experience delays and should use caution when driving through active construction areas.
