Work on Interstate 71 will require multiple overnight lane and road closures next week as part of the I-Move Kentucky project.
Beginning 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, Chamberlain Lane under I-71 will be closed to allow a contractor to demolish the existing bridge piers next to the roadway. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20.
The same closure will also be in place:
- 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21
- 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, to 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22
- 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, to 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23
- 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, to 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24
From 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, to 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, the left lanes of I-71 North and South will also be closed over Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12 for beam setting.
Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.
Motorists should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.
