Work on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) will require lane and ramp closures starting Friday, April 28, and traffic shifts on Saturday and Sunday, as part of the I-Move Kentucky project.

Weekend Ramp Closures

Beginning 8 p.m. Friday, the ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North (Exit 19B) and the ramp from I-265 North to U.S. 60/Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) will be closed for pavement replacement.

Barrier Wall Work

From 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, I-265 South will be reduced to one lane from Westport Road (Exit 32) to U.S. 60/Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) for barrier wall work.

The same closure will be in place from 8 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.

Traffic Shift

Restriping work will be performed this weekend in order to shift traffic on I-265 North and South between I-64 and La Grange Road to the left side of the roadway. The long-term shift will allow contractors to begin work on the far right lanes.

The following lane closures will be in place Saturday and Sunday for restriping:

  • Starting 7 a.m. Saturday: Rolling lane closures on I-265 North from I-64 to La Grange Road
  • Traffic on I-265 North will be shifted to the left lanes by Saturday afternoon.

  • Starting 7 a.m. Sunday: Rolling lane closures on I-265 South from La Grange Road to I-64
  • Traffic on I-265 South will be shifted to the left lanes by Sunday afternoon.

Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.
