I-Move Traffic Alert: Lane and Ramp Closures on I-265 Starting Tonight

Multiple lane and ramp closures will be in place on I-265 starting tonight, Monday, Sept. 23. This work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project. 

Monday, Sept. 23 New Closures 

  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound from I-64 to Shelbyville Road will be reduced to one lane for striping work. This closure will be in place until Tuesday at 6 a.m. 
  • I-265 northbound and I-265 southbound will be reduced to one lane in various locations between I-64 and I-71 starting Tuesday, Sept. 24 through Friday, Sept. 27 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each morning. Crews will be installing rumble strips. 

Reminders 

  • Beginning Tuesday at 7 p.m., the I-64 westbound to I-265 southbound ramp will be closed for added surface paving treatment. This closure will be in place until Wednesday at 6 a.m.  
  • Various locations along I-265 northbound and I-265 southbound from I-64 to Brownsboro Road will experience lane reductions starting Monday, Sept. 23 through Friday, Sept. 27 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. each morning for striping and pavement marker installation.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Lane and Ramp Closures on I-64 and I-265 Starting Tonight

Multiple lane and ramp closures will be in place on I-64 and I-265 starting tonight, Friday, Sept. 20. This work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Friday, Sept. 20 

  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound from Pope Lick Road (Mile Marker 24.8) to just past the I-64 bridge (Mile Marker 25.8) will be reduced to one lane for final surfacing work. This closure will be in place until Monday morning at 6 a.m. 
  • At 8 p.m., the I-265 northbound ramp to I-64 eastbound will be closed for final surfacing work. This closure will be in place until Saturday at midnight. 

The detour will be to take I-265 northbound to Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) or Old Henry Road (Exit 29) and then take either the I-265 southbound or I-64 eastbound ramp.  

  • At 8 p.m., the I-265 northbound ramp to I-64 westbound will be closed for final surfacing work. This closure is in place until Saturday at midnight. 

The detour will be to take I-265 northbound to Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) or Old Henry Road (Exit 29) and then take I-265 southbound to the I-64 westbound ramp.  

  • At 8 p.m., the I-64 westbound ramp to I-265 northbound will be closed for final surfacing work. This closure is in place until Monday morning at 6 a.m. 

The detour will be to take I-64 westbound to Blankenbaker Parkway and then take I-64 eastbound to the I-265 southbound ramp to Taylorsville Road (Exit 23), then take the I-265 northbound ramp.  

  • At 8 p.m., the I-64 eastbound to I-265 northbound ramp will be closed for final surfacing work. This closure will be in place until Saturday at midnight. 

The detour will be to take the I-64 eastbound ramp to I-265 southbound to the Taylorsville Road exit (Exit 23), then take the ramp to I-265 northbound.

Lane and ramp closures will be in place on I-71 and I-265 starting tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 13. This work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project.

Friday, Sept. 13 

Beginning at 8 p.m., the ramp from KY 329 to I-71 southbound will be closed. Crews will be performing pavement work on the ramp. This closure is in place until Monday morning at 6 a.m.

Also, at 8 p.m., I-71 southbound will be reduced to one lane from KY 329 (Mile Marker 15) to just past Moser Farm Road Bridge (Mile Marker 11).

Monday, Sept. 16 

Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. daily, I-265 southbound and I-265 northbound will be reduced to one lane in various locations throughout the corridor from Shelbyville Road to Brownsboro Road. These lane reductions will be in place for pavement marker installation.

Fri., Aug. 30 

  • Beginning at 10 p.m., the ramps from I-265 northbound to I-71 southbound (Exit 35B), I-71 southbound to I-265 southbound (Exit 9A), and I-265 southbound to I-71 northbound (Exit 35A) will be closed. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.  
  • At 10 p.m., I-71 South and I-71 North will be reduced to one lane at the Gene Snyder. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.  

Tues., Sept. 3 

  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound at I-64 will have a full closure. The detour for this closure will be to take the I-265 northbound ramp to I-64 westbound (Exit 25B), turn around at Blankenbaker Parkway then take I-64 eastbound to I-265 northbound (Exit 19). Crews will be working on the future I-64 westbound to I-265 northbound ramp.  
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound will be reduced to one lane from I-71 to KY 42. Crews will be performing pavement installation. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

Wed., Sept. 4 

  • Beginning at 9 a.m., there will be intermittent one lane rolling road closures on I-71 northbound from the rest area to KY 329. This closure will be in place until 1 p.m. 
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound will be reduced to one lane from I-71 to KY 42. Crews will be performing pavement installation. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Thursday morning.  
  • At 8 p.m., I-265 southbound from Shelbyville Road to I-64 will be reduced to one lane for overhead sign work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Thursday.

Mon., Aug. 26 

  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-71 southbound will be reduced to one lane from Moser Farm Road until Brownsboro Road. Crews will be performing electrical work in the area. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. 

Tues., Aug. 27 

  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-71 southbound will be reduced to one lane from Moser Farm Road until Brownsboro Road. Crews will be performing electrical work in the area. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. 
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound lanes between Westport Road (Exit 32) and Brownsboro Road (Exit 34) will be reduced to one lane. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

Wed., Aug. 28 

  • Beginning at 6 a.m., I-265 northbound traffic between Westport Road (Exit 32) and Brownsboro Road (Exit 34) will be shifted to the left side of the road. This will be a long-term shift. 
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., the ramp from I-265 South to I-64 West (Exit 25B) will be closed. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Thursday morning.  
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 southbound from Shelbyville Road to I-64 will be reduced to one lane. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Thursday morning.  
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound from I-71 to US 42, will be reduced to one lane. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Thursday. The same closure will be in place Thursday night.  

Thurs., Aug. 29 

  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-64 eastbound will be reduced to one lane from Blankenbaker Parkway until I-265. Crews will be performing electrical work in the area. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Friday morning.  
  • Beginning at 6 a.m., the current split of traffic on I-265 South at Shelbyville Road will be eliminated. All lanes of traffic will now be on the right side of the permanent barrier wall. A right-side lane closure from the Shelbyville Road ramp onto I-265 southbound will stay in place. 
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound from I-71 to US 42, will be reduced to one lane. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Friday morning.

The I-Move Kentucky project includes improvements to four major sections of I-265, I-71 and I-64 through a heavily traveled corridor in Jefferson and Oldham counties. Work on the I-Move project is scheduled to continue until fall of 2024.

  • Beginning at 8 p.m., the exit from I-71 northbound to KY 329 will be closed for paving. This closure will be in place until noon on Saturday.  
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-71 northbound from the rest area to the KY 329 overpass will be reduced to one lane. Crews will be working on the surface pavement.  This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday morning. 
  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound from Brownsboro Road to I-71 will be reduced to one lane. Crews will be performing concrete paving. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday morning.  

Sunday, Aug. 25 

  • Beginning at 3 p.m., I-265 North at Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) will be reduced to one lane. Crews will be performing highway lighting maintenance. This closure will be in place until 6 p.m. Sunday.  
  • Beginning at 3 p.m., ramps from I-265 North to I-71 South, I-71 South to I-265 South, and I-265 South to I-71 North will be closed. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday morning.  
  • Beginning at 3 p.m., I-71 southbound and I-71 northbound will be reduced to one lane at the Gene Snyder. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday morning. 

Tuesday, Aug. 27 

  • Beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound lanes between Westport Road (Exit 32) and Brownsboro Road (Exit 34) will be reduced to one lane. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

Wednesday, Aug. 28 

  • Beginning at 6 a.m., I-265 northbound traffic between Westport Road (Exit 32) and Brownsboro Road (Exit 34) will be shifted to the left side of the road. This will be a long-term shift.

Tuesday, July 23 

Beginning tonight at 8 p.m., I-265 North will be reduced to one lane at Aiken Road. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance. This closure will be in place until Wednesday 6 a.m. 

Wednesday, July 24 

Beginning tomorrow at 8 p.m., the left lane of the ramp from I-265 North to I-71 North (Exit 35A) will be closed. Crews will be working on sign replacements. This closure will be in place until Thursday at 6 a.m. 

Also, beginning tomorrow at 8 p.m., the La Grange Road ramp (Exit 30) to I-265 North will be closed. At the same time, I-265 North will be reduced to one lane. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance. This closure will be in place until Thursday at 6 a.m.  

Friday, July 26

Beginning Friday at 8 p.m., I-265 North and I-265 South will be reduced to one lane at Shelbyville Road (Exit 27). Crews will be performing bridge maintenance. This closure will be in place until Monday at 6 a.m. 

Also, beginning Friday at 8 p.m., I-71 South from Moser Farm Road to I-265 North will be reduced to one lane. Crews will be doing paving work. This closure will be in place until Monday at 6 a.m.

An ongoing lane closure will be in place on I-265 South starting tomorrow, Tuesday, July 23 as part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Beginning tomorrow, I-265 southbound will be reduced to two lanes. This lane closure will be in place over the next several months so crews can perform shoulder work south of the I-64 eastbound to I-265 southbound ramp (Exit 19A).  

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. 

Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.
