I-Move Week Ahead: Work near I-64/I-265 interchange requires lane closure
Traffic on I-265 will be impacted Monday and Tuesday nights
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet continues to make progress on the I-Move Kentucky project as crews work in several areas of I-71 and I-265. Milling and paving work will impact traffic this week.
Traffic on I-265 will be reduced to one lane on Monday and Tuesday evenings between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. between Shelbyville Road at mile point 26.8 and the I-64 interchange at mile point 25.4 for milling and paving operations. Lanes will be shifted for ongoing work to improve safety and mobility by rebuilding the I-64/I-265 interchange.
Looking ahead to the weekend, paving and milling operations on a two-mile stretch of I-71 northbound will require traffic to be reduced to one lane from Saturday at 12 a.m. to Monday at 6 a.m. Lane closures will start north of Chamberlain Lane near mile marker 9.8 on I-71 northbound and end near Moser Farm Road at mile marker 11.8.
Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen delays. Drivers should be cautious when traveling through active construction areas. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.
