Work for the I-Move Kentucky project will require a temporary ramp closure tonight at a major interchange. Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, Jan. 26, the ramp from eastbound Interstate 64 to northbound Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) will be closed to traffic. The right lane of I-265 North will also be blocked at I-64.
The closure is expected to last about an hour. It is necessary to allow the contractor to move paving equipment that is currently inside the cloverleaf interchange. Drivers may experience delays and are encouraged to plan an alternate route if necessary.
Guardrail repairs along I-265 will continue Thursday, Jan. 27. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, construction workers will intermittently close the right lane of I-265 North between KY 155 (Taylorsville Road / Exit 23) and Old Henry Road (Exit 29). The guardrail repairs will take place at various locations in this six-mile section of I-265. Drivers may encounter traffic delays during this time.
Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen delays. Drivers should be cautious when traveling through active construction areas. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.
