I-Move Traffic Alert: Ramp Closures at the I-71/I-265 Interchange; Lane Closure on I-265

Multiple lane and ramp closures and a traffic shift will be occur this weekend as part of the I-Move Kentucky project. Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

TONIGHT

Ongoing work to widen Interstate 71 and Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) will require major overnight ramp closures and a lane closure Saturday, Aug. 6.

The following ramp closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. tomorrow for paving:

  • Ramp from I-265 North to I-71 South
  • Ramp from I-265 South to I-71 South
  • Ramp from I-71 South to I-265 South

Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes.

Also beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the left lane of I-265 North between Aiken Road near mile marker 28 and Old Henry Road (Exit 29) will be closed for concrete paving. The closure will last until noon tomorrow.

SUNDAY

A traffic shift on I-265 will occur Sunday, Aug. 7.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday, there will be a traffic shift on I-265 North between the Rehl Road bridge and I-64. Traffic near the Rehl Road bridge will shift toward the barrier wall, while traffic near I-64 will shift back to the outside lanes. Work to shift traffic will last until 6 a.m. Monday.

MONDAY

Beam setting will require a lane closure on I-265 North Monday, Aug. 8.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, I-265 North will be reduced to one lane near the railroad bridge around mile marker 28.

Drivers should be cautious when traveling through active work zones. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.
