I-Move Traffic Alert: Traffic Shifts, Lane Closure on I-265 Tonight

Work on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) will require two traffic shifts and a lane closure Monday, Aug. 8, as part of the I-Move Kentucky project.

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, there will be a traffic shift on I-265 North between the Rehl Road bridge and I-64. Traffic near the Rehl Road bridge will shift toward the barrier wall, while traffic near I-64 will shift back to the outside lanes.

Traffic on southbound I-265 will also be shifted tonight. Starting at 8 p.m., traffic on I-265 South between KY 146/La Grange Road (Exit 30) and Old Henry Road (Exit 29) will shift to the outside lanes.

Work to shift traffic on both I-265 North and South will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Also beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, I-265 North will be reduced to one lane from Aiken Road near mile marker 28 to just past the railroad bridge. It will allow a contractor to demoralize two cranes that were used for a beam setting earlier today. The closure will last until midnight.

Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

Motorists should be cautious when traveling through active work zones. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.
