I-Move Traffic Alert: Blasting on I-71 Tomorrow; I-265 Lane and Ramp Closures Saturday

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require blasting on Interstate 71 tomorrow, Friday, June 16, and lane and ramp closures on I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) Saturday, June 17.

Additional lane and ramp closures are planned Monday, June 19, on I-265.

Friday, June 16

Blasting work will occur at noon Friday along I-71 between Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12 and KY 329 (Exit 14).

Rolling traffic stoppages will be in effect for both southbound and northbound I-71 to ensure the safety of workers and drivers. The roadway will reopen to traffic within 15 minutes unless debris cleanup is necessary.

Saturday, June 17

Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, the left lane of I-265 South from La Grange Road (Exit 30) to Old Henry Road (Exit 29) will be closed to move temporary barrier wall.

Beginning at 6:30 a.m., the ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North (Exit 19B) will be closed for temporary barrier wall placement. That closure will last until approximately 10 a.m.

Beginning at approximately 10 a.m., the ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will be closed for temporary barrier wall replacement.

All closures are expected to end by 4 p.m. Saturday.

Monday, June 19

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, June 19, the ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will be closed to remove guardrail and restripe.

The ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North (Exit 19B) will also be closed at this time to remove light poles and guardrail.

Also during this time, the left lane of I-265 South will be closed near I-64 to shift traffic toward the median wall.

All closures will end by 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.
