I-Move Week Ahead: Overnight Closures Planned on I-265 Starting Sunday
Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require overnight closures on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) and I-71 starting Sunday, July 23.
Sunday, July 23
Beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, I-64 East will be reduced to one lane at the new I-265 overpass. The ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will also be closed. The closures will allow crews to perform a long-term traffic switch on I-64 East, moving traffic to the left two lanes and closing the right lane.
The closures will last until 6 a.m. Monday, July 24.
Also beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, I-71 South will be reduced to one lane at the Moser Farm Road overpass near mile marker 12 to allow crews to move a barrier wall. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Monday.
Monday, July 24
Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, I-265 North and South will be reduced to one lane between Old Henry Road (Exit 29) and KY146/La Grange Road (Exit 30) to allow crews to relocate a temporary barrier wall. The closures will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 25.
Beginning at 11 p.m. Monday, the ramp from I-265 North to La Grange Road (Exit 30) will be closed for crews to set temporary barrier wall along the right shoulder of the ramp. The closure will last until 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.
Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.
