Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require lane and ramp closures on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) tonight, Tuesday, June 20, and blasting on I-71 tomorrow, June 21.

Tuesday, June 20

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will be closed to restripe and remove guardrail.

The ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North (Exit 19B) will also be closed at this time to remove light poles and guardrail.

Also during this time, the left lane of I-265 South will be closed near I-64 to shift traffic toward the median wall.

All closures will end by 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 21.

Wednesday, June 21

Blasting work will occur at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday along I-71 between Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12 and KY 329 (Exit 14). Rolling traffic stoppages will be in effect for both southbound and northbound I-71 to ensure the safety of workers and drivers. The roadway will reopen to traffic within 15 minutes unless debris cleanup is necessary.

Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

Lane and ramp closures scheduled to start tonight on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) have been postponed until tomorrow, Tuesday, June 20, due to weather. The work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, the ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will be closed to remove guardrail and perform restriping.

The ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North (Exit 19B) will also be closed at this time to remove light poles and guardrail.

Also during this time, the left lane of I-265 South will be closed near I-64 to shift traffic toward the median wall.

All closures will end by 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 21.

Additional lane and ramp closures are planned Monday, June 19, on I-265.

Friday, June 16

Blasting work will occur at noon Friday along I-71 between Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12 and KY 329 (Exit 14).

Rolling traffic stoppages will be in effect for both southbound and northbound I-71 to ensure the safety of workers and drivers. The roadway will reopen to traffic within 15 minutes unless debris cleanup is necessary.

Saturday, June 17

Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, the left lane of I-265 South from La Grange Road (Exit 30) to Old Henry Road (Exit 29) will be closed to move temporary barrier wall.

Beginning at 6:30 a.m., the ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North (Exit 19B) will be closed for temporary barrier wall placement. That closure will last until approximately 10 a.m.

Beginning at approximately 10 a.m., the ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will be closed for temporary barrier wall replacement.

All closures are expected to end by 4 p.m. Saturday.

Monday, June 19

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, June 19, the ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will be closed to remove guardrail and restripe.

Monday Night

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, intermittent lane closures will be in effect on I-71 South at the Moser Farm Road overpass near mile marker 12. The lane closures will allow the contractor to switch traffic on I-71 South to the inside lanes.

The closures will be in place until 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 6.

Tuesday Night

Beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, intermittent lane closures will be in effect on I-71 North between the Brownsboro Road overpass near mile marker 10 and KY 329 (Exit 14). The lane closures will allow the contractor to shift traffic on I-71 North to the inside lanes.

The closures will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 7.

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require overnight lane closures on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) starting tonight, Wednesday, May 24. Additional closures are planned on I-265 and I-71 later this week.

Wednesday Night

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, I-265 South will be reduced to one lane at Old Henry Road (Exit 29) to replace a crash barrier at the quarry bridge.

The closure will last until 6 a.m. Thursday.

Thursday Night

Beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, I-265 South will be reduced to one lane just south of I-64 (Exit 25) to replace temporary barrier wall in the area. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Friday.

Also beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, I-71 North will be reduced to one lane at various locations north of Brownsboro Road to remove temporary barrier wall. The closures will last until 6 a.m. Friday.

Blasting along Interstate 71 is set to resume tomorrow, Tuesday, May 23, as part of the I-Move Kentucky project to expand I-71 to six lanes.

Beginning Tuesday and continuing for the next several months, crews will perform regular blasting work along I-71 between Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12 and KY 329 (Exit 14). Blasting will generally occur weekdays around 2:30 p.m.

Rolling traffic stoppages will be in effect for both southbound and northbound I-71 to ensure the safety of workers and drivers. The roadway will typically reopen to traffic within 15 minutes unless debris cleanup is necessary.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Closures on I-71 and at the I-265/I-71 Interchange Start Tonight

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require overnight lane and ramp closures at the Interstate 265/I-71 interchange starting tonight, Thursday, May 18.

Crews spent the last two nights placing pavement markers on I-265 North and South between I-64 and La Grange Road. That work has been completed early, allowing crews to begin work on I-71 and at the I-265/I-71 interchange.

Thursday Night

Tonight, beginning at 8 p.m., I-71 North will be reduced to one lane from the I-265/I-71 interchange to Chamberlain Lane near mile marker 10. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Friday.

Short-term ramp closures will also occur during this time on the following ramps:

  • I-265 South to I-71 North
  • I-71 North to I-265 North
  • I-265 North to I-71 North

Friday Night

Beginning at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, May 19, I-71 South will be reduced to one lane from Chamberlain Lane near mile marker 10 to Springdale Road near mile marker 9. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Saturday.

Short-term ramp closures will also occur during this time on the following ramps:

  • I-71 South to I-265 South
  • I-265 North to I-71 South
  • I-265 South to I-71 South

The collector-distributor (C-D) lane on I-71 South will also have short-term closures during this time.
