Beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, the ramp from I-71 South to I-265 North will be closed for paving. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Thursday.

  • Take Exit 9A to I-265/Gene Snyder South
  • Immediately take Exit 35A to I-71 North
  • Take Exit 9B to I-265/Gene Snyder North

Drivers may encounter delays during this time and should consider alternate routes when possible. Signage will be in place to alert drivers to construction.

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, June 10, I-71 North will be reduced to one lane between I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) and the Chamberlain Lane overpass near mile marker 10. Milling and paving operations will be active throughout the weekend until 6 a.m. Monday, June 13.

The ramp from I-265 North to I-71 North (Exit 35A) will also be closed during this time period (Friday night until 6 a.m. Monday). Drivers can navigate the ramp closure by utilizing three of the interchange’s cloverleaf ramps:

  • Take Exit 35B to I-71 South
  • Immediately take Exit 9A to I-265/Gene Snyder South
  • Take Exit 35A to I-71 North

Starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11, the ramp from I-71 North to I-265 North (Exit 9B) will be closed. This closure will last until 10 a.m. Sunday, June 12. Drivers on I-71 North can navigate the ramp closure via the following detour:

  • Exit I-71 North to I-265 South via Exit 9A
  • Stay in the right lane and take Exit 34 to Brownsboro Road (Crestwood)
  • Using the middle lane, turn left onto Brownsboro Road and take the ramp to I-265 North using the far right lane

On Monday, June 13, traffic on I-71 North will be switched to the inside lanes between I-265 and just past the Brownsboro Road bridge near mile marker 10.

Drivers will likely encounter delays during this time and should avoid the area or consider alternate routes when possible. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.

Work on Interstate 71 will require multiple lane and ramp closures starting tonight and continuing through the weekend. The work is part of the I-Move KY project.

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, June 9, one lane of I-71 North will be closed just past the Brownsboro Road overpass near mile marker 10 to remove temporary barrier walls, which will be moved to the southbound side of the interstate. One lane of I-71 South will also be closed near the rest area in Crestwood at mile marker 13 for the placement of the barrier walls. The lane closures will last until 6 a.m. Friday.

The removal of overhead exit signs along Interstate 71 South will require temporary alternating lane closures tonight and into tomorrow morning. The work is part of the I-Move KY project.

From 8 p.m. tonight, March 28, to 6 a.m. tomorrow, March 29, there will be alternating lane closures on I-71 South from mile marker 11 to the Brownsboro Road overpass about a mile before the I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) interchange. There will also be intermittent rolling roadblocks during this time to allow for the removal of the signage and its truss.

The signs will be replaced with a temporary variable message board until new signs are installed at a later date. The truss removal is part of ongoing work to expand I-71 to six lanes between KY 329 and I-265.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet continues to make progress on the I-Move Kentucky project as crews work in several areas of I-71, I-64 and I-265. Prep work for final surfacing will require traffic lane closures on I-71 northbound several nights this week.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning, traffic reduced to one lane on I-71 northbound starting at the I-265 interchange at mile point 9.1 and continuing to Chamberlain Lane at mile point 9.8.

Tonight (Monday) and for several nights over the next few weeks from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning, traffic will be reduced by one lane on I-265 northbound for work on the shoulder. The lane closure will start near Aiken Road at mile point 27.7 and continue to La Grange Road at mile point 30.4.

Tonight (Monday) and for several nights over the next few weeks from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning, work on I-71 at the I-265 interchange will continue as crews mill and pave the roadway. Ramp and lane closures at the interchange will change nightly while the multi-day paving project is completed, weather permitting.
