I-Move Traffic Alert: Ramp Closures on I-64 Starting Friday

Ramp closures will be in place as crews work on Interstate 64 starting tomorrow, Friday, June 21. This work is a part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Beginning Friday at 8 p.m., the I-64 West ramp to I-265 South (Exit 19A) will be closed. The detour for this closure will be to take the Blankenbaker Parkway exit (Exit 17) and then follow signs toward I-64 East. This closure will now be in place until 4 p.m. Sunday, in lieu of the previous closure time of 6 a.m. Monday morning. 

Beginning Sunday at 4 p.m. the contractor will close the I-64 West to Blankenbaker Road ramp (Exit 17). This closure will allow crews to switch the ramp’s traffic to the left for the new widening. The detour for this closure will be to take the Hurstbourne Lane exit and turn around. This closure will be in place until midnight. 

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. 

Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures. 

I-Move Traffic Alert: Additional Ramp and Lane Closures on I-64 and I-265 Starting Tonight

Additional ramp and lane closures will be in place as crews work on I-64 and I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) starting tonight, Monday, June 17. This work is a part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Monday, June 17 

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the left two lanes on I-265 North will be closed between I-64 and Shelbyville Road (Exit 27). Crews will be performing sign installation. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. on Tuesday. 

Additional Reminder: Closure tonight, Monday, June 17  

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the contractor will close the right lane at I-265 South over Shelbyville Road (Exit 27). This will also include the closure of the ramps to both I-64 West (Exit 25B) and I-64 East (Exit 25A). These closures will be in place until midnight.  

The detour will have drivers continue on I-265 South and turn around at the KY 155/Taylorsville Road exit (Exit 23). Drivers will then need to get back on I-265 North in order to exit towards I-64 East Lexington or I-64 West Louisville. 

 

Tuesday, June 18 

Beginning tomorrow at 9 a.m., one lane in each direction on Blankenbaker Parkway will be closed at the top of the I-64 West to Blankenbaker Parkway ramp (Exit 17). Crews will be performing median improvements. This closure will be in place until 3 p.m.  

The same closure will be in place on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

Additionally, beginning at 8 p.m., I-265 South and I-265 North will be reduced to one lane directly south of I-64. Crews will be performing sign installation. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday.  

 

Friday, June 21 

Beginning at 8 p.m., the I-64 West ramp to I-265 South (Exit 19A) will be closed. The detour for this closure will be to take the Blankenbaker Parkway exit (Exit 17) and then follow signs toward I-64 East.  This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday morning.

I-Move Traffic Alert: New Ramp and Lane Closures on I-64 and I-265 Starting Tomorrow

Ramp and lane closures will be in place as crews work in several areas of I-64 and I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) starting tomorrow, Wednesday, June 12. This work is a part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Beginning Wednesday, June 12, at 8 p.m., the ramp from I-265 South to I-64 West (Exit 25B) and East (Exit 25A) will be closed.  

Traffic will be reduced to one lane and rerouted through the existing express lane and drivers will need to turn around at the KY 155/Taylorsville Road exit (Exit 23). Drivers will then need to get back on I-265 North in order to exit towards I-64 East Lexington or I-64 West Louisville. 

Crews will be performing striping and some barrier wall work for the next phase of work in this area. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Thursday morning. 

Beginning Thursday, June 13, at 9 a.m. the contractor will reduce I-265 Northbound to one lane at Old Henry Road for guardrail repair work. This closure will be in place until 3 p.m. on Thursday.

I-Move Update: New Ramp from I-64 East to I-265 North Complete

The new ramp from I-64 East to I-265 North is now complete. This work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project.

The former ramp has been closed. All signage has been updated to reflect the new exit pattern.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Major Traffic Switch at the I-64/I-265 Interchange Planned for Sunday

A major traffic switch for the existing I-64 East to I-265 North ramp is scheduled for Sunday, June 9. This work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project. 

The ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North will be closed on Sunday to complete tie-ins related to the new ramp opening. The ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North (Exit 19B) will open again at approximately 6 p.m., Sunday. 

Beginning at 6 a.m. Sunday, I-64 East will be down to one lane beginning at Blankenbaker Parkway to allow crews to relocate existing signs and remove old signage. When complete, I-64 East will reopen to two lanes at approximately noon. 

The new ramp from I-64 East to I-265 North (Exit 19B) will open at the same time the Exit 19B cloverleaf will permanently be closed. Work should be completed by 6 p.m. on Sunday.  

Exits 19A and 19B on I-64 will have brief closures to traffic to complete proper lane assignment and striping for the new ramp. These closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. 

Signage will be in place to alert drivers of the new I-265 exit pattern starting at Hurstbourne Lane to Blankenbaker Parkway. A message board will also be up to alert drivers that Exit 19B will be closed starting Sunday.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Ramp Closures Planned This Weekend

Ramp closures will be in place as crews work in several areas of I-64, I-265 and I-71 starting tomorrow, Friday, May 31. This work is a part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Beginning at 5 a.m. Friday, the right lane of I-64 eastbound right before the I-265 southbound ramp will be shut down for paving operations. Two lanes of traffic on I-64 and the I-265 southbound ramp (Exit 19A) will remain open. This closure will be in place until midnight.  

Additionally, beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, the ramp from I-71 northbound to I-265 northbound (Exit 9B) will be closed. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday morning. This will allow crews to perform bridge maintenance.  

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

I-Move Week Ahead: Lane Closures on Gene Snyder Start Next Week

Lane closures will be in place on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) and Interstate 71 starting on Tuesday, May 28. Additional closures are planned throughout next week as part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Tuesday, May 28  

Beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, I-265 northbound from I-64 to Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) will be reduced to one lane. The left lane of I-265 southbound will be closed entirely during the closure. These closures will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday to allow crews to install an overhead sign truss.  

Also, beginning Tuesday at 8 p.m., I-265 northbound from Brownsboro Road (Exit 34) to one mile past the I-71 interchange will be reduced to one lane. This work will shift lanes to the right. The closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday.  

The same closure will be in place 8 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.  

 

Thursday, May 30 

Beginning 8 p.m. Thursday, I-265 southbound from Westport Road (Exit 32) to LaGrange Road (Exit 30) will be reduced to one lane for temporary barrier wall removal. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Friday.  

Additionally, starting 8 p.m. Thursday, I-265 northbound from Brownsboro Road (Exit 34) to one mile past the I-71 interchange will be reduced to one lane for the installation of temporary barrier wall. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Friday.  

 

Friday, May 31 

Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, I-265 northbound will be reduced to one lane on the I-265 northbound bridge over all lanes of I-71. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance work. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Monday, June 3.  

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Lane and Ramp Closures on I-64 and I-265 Start Sunday Night

Lane and ramp closures will be in place on I-64 West and I-265 South starting Sunday night, May 19. An additional closure is planned on Monday, May 20 as part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday, the right lane of I-64 West between I-265 and Blankenbaker Parkway will be closed. This closure will be in place to relocate a temporary barrier wall from the right shoulder to the right lane between the I-265 and Blankenbaker Parkway exit.  

Additionally, the ramp from I-265 South to I-64 West (Exit 25B) will be closed for approximately one hour to restripe the merge and shift the temporary barrier wall from I-265 South to I-64 West through the merge area. After 6 a.m. Monday, May 20, I-64 West (Exit 25B) will be reduced to two lanes.  

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, the exit from I-64 West to Blankenbaker Parkway will be closed. This closure will be in place for crews to restripe and relocate a temporary barrier wall at the Blankenbaker Parkway exit (Exit 17).

I-Move Traffic Alert: Multiple Ramp Closures on I-265 Start Tonight

Ramp closures will be in place on I-265 Northbound and Southbound tonight, Friday, May 10. Additional ramp closures are planned for this weekend starting tonight as part of the I-Move Kentucky project.  

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the ramp from La Grange Road to I-265 North will be closed. Also, beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the ramp from I-265 South to La Grange Road will be closed. Both closures will last until Monday morning at 6 a.m. The closures will be in place so crews can perform maintenance work on the bridge.  

Additionally, beginning tonight at midnight, the ramp from I-265 South to I-64 East and the ramp from I-265 South to I-64 West will be closed. The closure will last until Saturday morning at 4 a.m. A detour will be in place.  

The detour will be to continue to Taylorsville Road and take I-265 North to the desired I-64 ramps. This closure is in place for maintenance work on the closed ramp.
