I-Move Traffic Alert: Lane Closures on I-265 North Start Tonight

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require overnight lane closures on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) starting tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 27, through the morning of Friday, Mar. 1.

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, I-265 North will be reduced to one lane at various locations from KY 155/Taylorsville Road (Exit 23) to US 60/Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) for sign truss installation. The closures will last until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The same closures will be in place this week from:

  • 8 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday
  • 8 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Ramp Closures at the I-64/I-265 Interchange Tomorrow

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require two ramp closures at the Interstate 64/I-265 interchange tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 6. 

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, the following ramps will be closed: 

  • Ramp from I-265 South to I-64 East (Exit 25A) 
  • Ramp from I-64 West to I-265 South (Exit 19A) 

The closure will allow crews to set the beams on the bridge south of I-64. 

The detour for both ramp closures will be to take I-64 West to Blankenbaker Parkway (Exit 17) and then follow signs to I-64 East.  

During the ramp closures, drivers will still be able to use the far-left lane of I-265 South starting at Shelbyville Road. Drivers taking the ramp from Shelbyville Road to I-265 South will need to detour to I-64 West, then Blankenbaker Parkway and follow signs to I-64 East.

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled on I-71 and I-64/I-265 Interchange

Guardrail work on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) will require an additional ramp closure tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 10. The work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project. 

Tonight’s planned closures are listed below. Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. 

I-265 Ramp Closures 

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the ramp from I-265 South to I-64 West (Exit 25B) will be closed to allow for barrier wall relocation.

Also beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the ramp from I-265 North to La Grange Road (Exit 30) will be closed for guardrail work. 

Both closures will last until 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11. 

I-71 Lane Closure 

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, I-71 South between KY 329 (Exit 14) and Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12 will be reduced to one lane for barrier wall relocation. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Thursday. 

Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.

Lane and ramp closures are planned on Interstate 71 and at the I-64/I-265 interchange starting tonight, Monday, Jan. 8, through the morning of Thursday, Jan. 11. The work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project.

Monday, Jan. 8

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, the right lane of I-71 North over Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12 will be closed to allow crews to relocate the barrier wall to I-71 South for future blasting work. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Wednesday, Jan. 10

Beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, the ramp from I-265 South to I-64 West (Exit 25B) will be closed to allow for barrier wall relocation. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11.

Also beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, I-71 South between KY 329 (Exit 14) and Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12 will be reduced to one lane for barrier wall relocation. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Thursday.

Multiple lane and ramp closures are planned on the I-64/I-265 Interchange and I-71 starting Friday, Jan. 5, until Thursday, Jan. 11. The work is part of the I-Move Kentucky project. 

Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. 

 

Friday, Jan. 5 

Beginning Friday at 6 p.m., the right lane of I-64 West will be closed at the I-265 interchange. This closure will remain in place for the foreseeable future to allow for construction phasing at the interchange.  

Also, from 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, the right lane of I-265 South to I-64 West and the exit ramp will be closed. The detour from I-265 South to I-64 West will use the triple loop interchange (I-265 S to I-64 E to I-265 N to I-64 W). 

 

Monday, Jan. 8 

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, the right lane of I-71 North over Moser Farm Road will be closed to allow crews to relocate the barrier wall to I-71 South for future blasting work. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9. 

 

Wednesday, Jan. 10 

Beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday the ramp from I-265 South to I-64 West will be closed to allow for barrier wall relocation. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Blasting on I-64 Near the Gene Snyder This Week

Blasting along Interstate 64 as part of the I-Move Kentucky project will require intermittent afternoon road blocks starting today, Wednesday, Dec. 27, through Friday, Dec. 29.  

Additional work on I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) is also planned Wednesday night into Thursday morning. 

Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. 

 

Blasting on I-64 

Rolling road blocks will be in place to allow blasting along I-64 West near the Gene Snyder.  

The rolling road blocks will occur once daily and last approximately 15 minutes. They will be at the following locations: 

  • I-64 East at Blankenbaker Parkway (Exit 17) 
  • I-64 West approximately two miles before the I-265 interchange (Exit 19) 
  • I-265 North at Taylorsville Road (Exit 23) 
  • I-265 South at Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) 

 

Blasting and rolling road blocks will continue each week, Monday through Friday, until further notice.  

The rolling road blocks will help ensure the safety of workers and drivers during blasting. 

 

I-265 Ramp Closure 

Beginning Wednesday at 8 p.m., the ramp from La Grange Road to I-265 North will be closed for shoulder work. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Overnight Ramp Closure Planned on I-71 Thursday

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require an overnight ramp closure on Interstate 71 on Thursday, Dec. 14. Additional work on I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) is planned Friday night through Monday morning.

Thursday, Dec. 14

Beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, the ramp from KY 329 to I-71 South will be closed for barrier wall replacement. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15.

Friday, Dec. 15, until Monday, Dec. 18

Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, I-265 North and South between U.S. 60/Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) and Old Henry Road (Exit 29) will be reduced to one lane for work on bridge joints. The lanes will be closed until 6 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18.

I-Move Traffic Alert Update: Lane and Ramp Closures on I-71 Moved to Tonight

Overnight lane and ramp closures on Interstate 71 scheduled for last night have been moved to tonight, Thursday, Dec. 7, as part of the I-Move Kentucky project. Equipment problems late Wednesday prevented crews from completing the work last night. 

The overnight lane closure on I-265 has been rescheduled for Friday night. 

The updated schedule is below. Work may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. 

Thursday, Dec. 7 

Beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, the contractor will be shifting traffic to the two inside lanes on I-71 South between KY 329 (Exit 14) and Moser Farm Road near mile marker 12. I-71 South in this area will be reduced to one lane from 8 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday to allow the shift. 

Also beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, the ramp from KY 329 to I-71 South (Exit 14) will be closed for realignment of striping. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Friday. 

Friday, Dec. 8 

Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, the contractor will be shifting traffic to the two inside lanes on I-265 North between La Grange Road and Westport Road. I-265 North in this area will be reduced to one lane from 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday to allow the shift.

This week’s proposed closure schedule for the I-Move Kentucky project has been adjusted, with closures on Interstate 71 now scheduled for tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Tonight’s overnight lane closure on I-265 has been rescheduled for tomorrow night.

Tuesday, Dec. 5 

From 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesday, the ramp from Westport Road to I-265 South (Exit 32) will be closed for barrier wall placement. 

Also beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, I-265 North and South will be reduced to one lane between La Grange Road (Exit 30) and Westport Road (Exit 32) for barrier wall placement. The closures will last until 6 a.m. Wednesday. 

Wednesday, Dec. 6 

Beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, the contractor will be shifting traffic to the two inside lanes on I-265 North between La Grange Road and Westport Road. I-265 North in this area will be reduced to one lane from 8 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday to allow the shift.
