I-Move Traffic Alert: I-265 Ramp Closure Tonight, Pothole Patching Tuesday

Work on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) will require an overnight ramp closure Monday night and lane closures throughout the day Tuesday. The work is part of the I-Move KY project.

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, May 23, the ramp from I-265 South to KY 155/Taylorsville Road at Exit 23 (Taylorsville/Jeffersontown) will be closed to traffic to allow for restriping. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, a contractor will also be filling potholes throughout the project area. Most of the work will be along I-265 North and South between U.S. 60/Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) and Old Henry Road (Exit 29). Lane closures will be in effect.

Drivers may encounter traffic delays during this time and should be cautious when traveling through active construction areas. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Lane Closure Tonight on I-71; I-265 Ramp Closure Planned for Monday

Work to move temporary barrier walls along Interstate 71 continues as part of the I-Move KY project. Overnight lane closures will be in effect for both the north and southbound lanes.

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, May 20, traffic will be reduced to one lane on I-71 North between I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) and the Brownsboro Road overpass near mile marker 10. The southbound side of I-71 will also be reduced to one lane between the rest area in Crestwood at mile marker 13 and the Moser Farm Road overpass near mile marker 12.

These lane closures will be in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday.

Next week, a construction crew will block an exit ramp on I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) for restriping work. Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, May 23, the ramp from I-265 South to KY 155/Taylorsville Road at Exit 23 (Taylorsville/Jeffersontown) will be closed to all traffic. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Work Continues to Restripe I-71, Pothole Patching Planned for Gene Snyder

Lane closures are scheduled for Thursday on both Interstate 71 and Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway). This work is part of the I-Move KY project.

Work to restripe I-71 North between I-265 and KY 329 (Exit 14, Crestwood/Pewee Valley) began Wednesday afternoon. The contractor will resume work in this area at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28. Drivers can expect rolling lane closures and delays in the northbound lanes. Restriping is anticipated to be complete by 3 p.m. Thursday.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, the right lane of I-265 South will be closed between Old Henry Road (Exit 29) and U.S. 60/Shelbyville Road (Exit 27) while contractors repair potholes along the corridor.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Lane and Ramp Closures Planned on I-265

One lane of Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) and a ramp at the I-265/I-64 interchange will be closed Thursday, March 31, for right-of-way tree clearing. The work is part of the I-Move KY project.

 Beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow, the right lane of I-265 South will be closed between I-64 and KY 155 (Taylorsville Road/Exit 23). This closure will remain in effect until noon.

From noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, the ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will be closed for tree clearing. Both closures are necessary because tree limbs and other debris may fall into the roadway.

Drivers on I-265 North can navigate the ramp closure by utilizing three of the interchange’s cloverleaf ramps:

  • Continue north on I-265 and take Exit 25B to I-64 West
  • Stay in the right lane and immediately exit I-64 West via Exit 19A to I-265 South
  • From I-265 South, take Exit 25A to I-64 East

Pothole repairs on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) in the I-Move Kentucky project area will require a temporary lane closure and the shutdown of an interchange ramp tomorrow.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 3, the right lane of northbound I-265 will be closed from I-64 to U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road/Exit 27). The ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North will also be closed during this time to allow workers to make necessary pothole repairs.

Drivers may encounter traffic delays and are encouraged to plan an alternate route as necessary.

Beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, workers will patch potholes at various spots on both northbound and southbound I-265. Rolling lane closures will be in effect throughout the late morning and afternoon hours.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Bridge Beam Setting Tonight

Bridge work on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) will require an overnight lane closure. A construction crew will be setting beams as part of the I-Move Kentucky project.

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, Feb. 10, the left lane of I-265 North will be closed between U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road/Exit 27) and Old Henry Road (Exit 29). Workers will be setting bridge beams at the Aiken Road overpass. The lane closure will be in effect overnight until 6 a.m. Friday.

Drivers should be cautious when traveling through active construction areas. Signage and flaggers will be in place to alert drivers of lane closures and construction zones.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Emergency Pothole Repairs

Drivers on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) in the I-Move Kentucky project area will soon get some much-needed pothole relief. The repairs will take place in both directions of I-265 between I-64 and U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road).

Beginning at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 7, traffic will be reduced to one lane on I-265 North between I-64 (Exit 25) and U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road / Exit 27) to facilitate the emergency pothole repairs. Once repairs are complete in the northbound lanes, the contractor will make repairs on I-265 South between U.S. 60 and I-64.

There is no estimated duration for the pothole patching; the work will continue today until repairs are complete. Traffic delays are possible.

More extensive pothole repairs will take place on I-265 South beginning at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. This work will require a right lane closure between Old Henry Road (Exit 29) and U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road / Exit 27). In this section of roadway, a construction crew will dig out damaged concrete and fill it with lifts of asphalt.

Week Ahead: Pothole patching on I-265

Feb. 1 update – Due to weather concerns, the pothole repairs planned for Wednesday, Feb. 2 will be rescheduled to a future date. 

Work will get underway this week to repair potholes on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway). A contractor for the I-Move Kentucky project will complete the work Tuesday and Wednesday.

Beginning at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, the right lane of traffic will be closed on northbound I-265 between U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road / Exit 27) and Old Henry Road (Exit 29). This lane closure will be in effect until 3 p.m. Pothole repairs and a right lane closure will continue from 3 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2 on southbound I-265 in the same area.

I-Move Traffic Alert: I-64 ramp closure Wednesday night; More guardrail work Thursday

Work for the I-Move Kentucky project will require a temporary ramp closure tonight at a major interchange. Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, Jan. 26, the ramp from eastbound Interstate 64 to northbound Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) will be closed to traffic. The right lane of I-265 North will also be blocked at I-64.

The closure is expected to last about an hour. It is necessary to allow the contractor to move paving equipment that is currently inside the cloverleaf interchange. Drivers may experience delays and are encouraged to plan an alternate route if necessary.

Guardrail repairs along I-265 will continue Thursday, Jan. 27. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, construction workers will intermittently close the right lane of I-265 North between KY 155 (Taylorsville Road / Exit 23) and Old Henry Road (Exit 29). The guardrail repairs will take place at various locations in this six-mile section of I-265. Drivers may encounter traffic delays during this time.
