I-Move Traffic Alert: Blasting on I-71 Resumes Tomorrow

Blasting along Interstate 71 will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, August 22, as part of the I-Move Kentucky project to expand I-71 to six lanes.

Beginning Tuesday and continuing for the next several months, crews will perform regular blasting work along I-71 North just south of the northbound rest area near mile marker 13. Blasting will generally occur weekdays around 2:30 p.m.

Rolling traffic stoppages will be in effect for both southbound and northbound I-71 to ensure the safety of workers and drivers. The roadway will reopen to traffic within 15 minutes unless debris cleanup is necessary.

Work schedules may be adjusted due to weather or other unforeseen events. Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones. Signage will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.

I-Move Traffic Alert: Ramp Closure at the I-64/I-265 Interchange This Weekend

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require lane and ramp closures this Sunday, Aug. 13.

From 4 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, the ramp from I-64 East to I-265 South (Exit 19A) will be closed for temporary barrier wall placement and striping.

Also from 4 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, I-71 North will be reduced to one lane at the northbound rest area near mile marker 13 for temporary barrier wall work.

I-Move Week Ahead: Overnight Closures Planned on I-265 Starting Sunday

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require overnight closures on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) and I-71 starting Sunday, July 23.

Sunday, July 23

Beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, I-64 East will be reduced to one lane at the new I-265 overpass. The ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will also be closed. The closures will allow crews to perform a long-term traffic switch on I-64 East, moving traffic to the left two lanes and closing the right lane.

The closures will last until 6 a.m. Monday, July 24.

Also beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, I-71 South will be reduced to one lane at the Moser Farm Road overpass near mile marker 12 to allow crews to move a barrier wall. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Monday.

Monday, July 24

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, I-265 North and South will be reduced to one lane between Old Henry Road (Exit 29) and KY146/La Grange Road (Exit 30) to allow crews to relocate a temporary barrier wall. The closures will last until 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 25.

Beginning at 11 p.m. Monday, the ramp from I-265 North to La Grange Road (Exit 30) will be closed for crews to set temporary barrier wall along the right shoulder of the ramp. The closure will last until 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, I-71 North will be reduced to one lane between the Brownsboro Road overpass near mile marker 10 and the Moser Farm Road bridge near mile marker 12 for maintenance work. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Friday, June 30.

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require lane and ramp closures on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) tonight, Tuesday, June 20, and blasting on I-71 tomorrow, June 21.

Tuesday, June 20

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, the ramp from I-265 North to I-64 East (Exit 25A) will be closed to restripe and remove guardrail.

The ramp from I-64 West to I-265 North (Exit 19B) will also be closed at this time to remove light poles and guardrail.

Also during this time, the left lane of I-265 South will be closed near I-64 to shift traffic toward the median wall.

All closures will end by 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 21.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, intermittent lane closures will be in effect on I-71 South at the Moser Farm Road overpass near mile marker 12. The lane closures will allow the contractor to switch traffic on I-71 South to the inside lanes.

The closures will be in place until 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 6.

Tuesday Night

Beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, intermittent lane closures will be in effect on I-71 North between the Brownsboro Road overpass near mile marker 10 and KY 329 (Exit 14). The lane closures will allow the contractor to shift traffic on I-71 North to the inside lanes.

The closures will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 7.

Work on the I-Move Kentucky project will require overnight lane closures on Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) starting tonight, Wednesday, May 24. Additional closures are planned on I-265 and I-71 later this week.

Wednesday Night

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, I-265 South will be reduced to one lane at Old Henry Road (Exit 29) to replace a crash barrier at the quarry bridge.

The closure will last until 6 a.m. Thursday.

Thursday Night

Beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, I-265 South will be reduced to one lane just south of I-64 (Exit 25) to replace temporary barrier wall in the area. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Friday.

Also beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, I-71 North will be reduced to one lane at various locations north of Brownsboro Road to remove temporary barrier wall. The closures will last until 6 a.m. Friday.
